Full Description: Altos del Maria is a gated community 75-minutes outside of Panama in the mountains at an altitude of 1600 ft above sea level. Altos del Maria, initiated in 1998, with a total area of over 6000 acres, is expected to develop several thousand lots of approximately one to one half acre each.

The climate at Altos del Maria is, on average a cool 70°F - 75°F, 10 degrees lower than the Panamanian coastal towns, and is a comfortable daytime tempurature with cooler nights.

Altos del Maria is located 75 minutes outside of Panama City, heading west on the Interamerican Highway a 55-minute drive or 46 miles to the town of Bejuco. Once in Bejuco, make a right turn at the Altos del Maria gate/sign, then a 20-minute drive, or 11 miles to the Altos del Maria development.

Altos Del Maria is 30 minutes away from the nearest beaches, a major supermarket that caters to an upscale market, and 3 golf courses and good fishing. As well, there exists a 9-mile direct backroad to the town El Valle de Anton from Altos del Maria accessible by SUVs or 4-Wheel drive vehicles.

The Development
Altos del Maria has four valley regions: Valle de la Toscana (subdivided into 17 neighborhoods), Valle del Encanto, Valle del Laurel, and Valencia, as well as three mountain retreats: Mirador del Pacifico, Altos del Piamonte and La Rioca. These areas have been developed keeping the natural grade of the terrain; some lots have creeks and rivers; and all have valley, mountain, or ocean views.

Altos del Maria, as a residential community, has over 42 miles of paved roads, a power grid, aqueduct system, natural trails, lookout points, bridges, and a communication tower. Altos del Maria will use only part of its total area in development, leaving a huge greenery belt to maintain an undeveloped, natural green area that characterizes the community.

Altos del Maria is a integrated community with the ammenities of city development in a rural setting. All the roads are paved, and every lot has the capability to connect to the power grid, water system, broadband Internet, Direct TV, cell and/or land line phone, and a heliport for emergencies.
